Getting to Clermont-Ferrand

Clermont-Ferrand can be accessed by train, by road, by air.

 

By train

Confortable trains run between Clermont-Ferrand and Paris (3h15) or Lyon (2h20). Online ticket booking is possible on the SNCF website.

 

By road

Clermont-Ferrand can be reached by highways coming from the North (Paris, 450 Km, highway A71), the East (Lyon, 200 Km, highway A72), the Western (Bordeaux, 400 Km, highway A89) or the South (Montpellier, 350 Km, highway A75).

To reach the conference location from Paris A71 take exit 16 "Le Brezet", at roundabout turn left for Avenue Louis Bleriot, at second roundabout go straight on for Boulevard Bingen "St Jacques – CHU", at second set of traffic lights turn left for Rue des Meuniers, take the third street on left (entrance to campus).

To reach the conference location from Lyon A72 straight on after tollgate (do not take exit “Clermont Nord”), follow Clermont Centre signs, take exit "Bingen 1.1b - St Jacques – CHU", drive along Boulevard Bingen, at second set of traffic lights turn left for “Rue des Meuniers”, take the third street on left (entrance to campus).

 

By air

Clermont-Ferrand Aulnat airport is connected through direct flights with Amsterdam (90 min), Paris (50 min), Lyon (30 min) and other cities in France. Since the capacities of the airplanes are limited, please make your flight reservation in advance. Online ticket booking is possible on the Air France Web site.

 

Transport in Clermont-Ferrand

The best way for local transport is to use tram and buses. Tram runs from 4h30 in the morning to 1h in the night. A map of the public transportation network is available at the T2C website

The site of the conference is very near to the "Campus" tram stop. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the city center.

It is also easy to use a car. Different possibilities of parking exist in the center at a very accessible price.
